The dev palette is a simple drag-and-drop window designed to greatly speed up your workflow by providing quick access to any asset or object that you wish. Just drag it in. It is built to behave just like you would expect of a native Unity window. Selection, dragging, reordering and more all just work, and it handles pretty much anything in Unity that you drag in, including anything from the Project and Hierarchy windows.
