A complete dark silhouette puzzle-platformer: physics controller, procedural animation with ragdoll deaths, hazards, puzzles, water, atmosphere, menus and a full demo level.Gloam is a complete template for a dark, silhouette puzzle-platformer. A boy wakes in a foggy forest; you guide him past bear traps, swinging ropes, a river and a line of crushers. Everything that makes that kind of game work is here and wired together: a physics controller, procedural animation with ragdoll deaths, hazards and puzzles that reset at checkpoints, water, the monochrome look, sound, menus and a finished demo level to learn from. Open the demo scene, press Play, then make the forest your own.The boyPhysics side-scroller controller: run and walk, jump with coyote time, fall damage, automatic ledge grabs and climbs, ladders, swinging ropes you pump and let go of, push and pull, water.Procedural puppet instead of sprite sheets: gait cycles driven by distance, two-bone IK for feet on uneven ground and hands on ledges, crates, ropes and levers, glowing eyes.On death he becomes a ragdoll, with optional dismemberment (a gore setting in the menu turns it off).Die, retry, learnDeaths by fall, impaling, crushing, cutting, traps, drowning and more, each with its own reaction and sound. The screen fades and the boy returns to the last checkpoint with every crate, trap, lever and door back where it was: anything resettable snapshots itself when a checkpoint is reached.Checkpoints and found secrets are saved; the title offers Continue.Hazards and puzzlesBear traps, crushers, saw blades on rails, falling logs and boulders, spike beds, collapsing ledges and pits.Levers, weight-counting pressure plates, trip wires, gates, lifts and moving platforms, wired together in the Inspector with a signal system the Scene view draws as lines.Water with buoyancy and river currents, and a raft that stays level under the boy.The lookA perspective camera over a 2D physics plane: every layer placed deeper gets real parallax, depth fog and depth blur without any extra work.Mist bands, light shafts, film grain and a vignette from Gloam's own shaders; atmosphere profiles blend as the boy walks from a forest into a sepia factory. No post-processing stack: the same look in the Built-in pipeline, URP and the URP 2D renderer.Draw terrain as polygons with rough organic outlines and grass fringes; trees, bushes, props and characters are generated art you can regenerate or replace.SoundA complete synthesized sound set: footsteps, landings, ropes, water, traps, crushers, ambience and a quiet music theme.Pooled playback that fades and pans with distance on the level plane, sound cues with random variation, ambience zones.MenusA title that fades in over the sleeping boy, a pause menu, settings (video, audio, gameplay) and an end card, in a quiet text-only style.Rebindable keyboard and gamepad controls with an alternate key per action; in-world hints name whatever key is bound.Five languages: English, Deutsch, Français, Español, 日本語.Built to extendFull C# source with XML documentation; every behaviour is a small component with tooltips.Input through a small interface: Input System (rebindable) or the legacy Input Manager, plus a scripted provider for cutscenes and bots. The demo level is built by a documented C# level kit, a readable example of every piece in use.Fast Enter Play Mode (Domain Reload off) supported. No third-party dependencies.Includes a Quick Start guide and a full manual (PDF). The trailer in the gallery is recorded from the demo level exactly as shipped.Third-party notices: this asset uses the Inter and Noto Sans JP typefaces under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; see Third-Party Notices.txt in the package.FeaturesPhysics side-scroller controller: run, jump (coyote time), fall damage, ledge grab and climb, ladders, ropes, push and pull, waterProcedural character animation with IK, ragdoll deaths and optional dismembermentCheckpoints that reset every puzzle; saved progress and secretsHazards: bear traps, crushers, saw blades, falling logs and boulders, spikes, collapsing ledges, pitsPuzzles: levers, pressure plates, trip wires, gates, lifts, moving platforms, a visual signal systemWater with buoyancy, currents and raftsSilhouette look from custom shaders: depth fog, depth blur, mist, light shafts, film grain, atmosphere zonesSynthesized sound set with pooled 2D audio and ambience zonesTitle, pause, settings and end card menus; rebindable keyboard and gamepad controls; five languagesA complete demo level in eight sections; full C# source with XML docsCompatibilityUnity 2022.3 LTS or newer; verified with zero compiler warnings on Unity 2022.3, 6.0 and 6.6Render pipelines: Built-in, URP (Universal renderer) and the URP 2D renderer; no post-processing requiredInput: the Input System package (rebinding) or the legacy Input ManagerDependencies: uGUI and TextMeshPro (built in); Fast Enter Play Mode with Domain Reload off is supportedSupported OSPlatform independent: C# and shaders only, no native code or pluginsTested in Windows standalone buildsDocumentationQuick Start Guide and manual (PDF) and a changelog in Gloam/DocumentationGameplay trailer in the gallery aboveGloam was built with an AI coding assistant working under the publisher's direction and review. No AI image, audio or 3D-model generators were used.
