Create infinite animated pixel alien swarms with 2D Infinite Character Forge –
a Procedural pixel alien generator and animator.Unleash a procedurally generated alien swarm. 2D Infinite Character Forge - Alien Swarm Edition draws animated insectoid alien enemies in pixel art: swarmlings, warriors, acid spitters and armoured chargers, in endless variations from a single seed. Every creature is generated live in Unity from editable C# source, with no online service. The creatures use the same slightly-front three-quarter view as the other 2D Infinite Character Forge editions, so they fit straight into a game built with any of them.EIGHT SPECIES, TWO BODY PLANSFour-legged:• Skitterling – small, fast swarmling• Stalker – eyeless warrior with a backswept crest and a bladed tail• Spitter – carries a swollen acid sac on its back• Ravager – large charger with a skull plate, horns and a club tailSix-legged insectoids:• Mite – small, many-eyed swarmling• Reaper – warrior with raised scythe forelegs• Bombardier – fires acid from a raised abdomen gland• Bulwark – large armoured beetle with a hornREAL SIZE DIFFERENCESmall, Medium and Large size classes. Sprites are never scaled: a Ravager has more pixels than a Skitterling at the same pixels-per-unit, so the size difference shows in every scene and prefab.FIVE HIVE COLOUR SCHEMESVoid, Bone, Dune, Blight and Ember. Every creature of a hive shares the scheme, so a swarm reads as one army. All seven colours of a scheme are editable.ENDLESS VARIATIONEach seed varies spikes, horns, crests, tails, mandibles, legs, acid sacs, abdomens, armour bands and colour tone, while every species keeps its signature features. The same seed always gives the same creature.WOUNDSCracked carapace, broken spikes and leaking acid-blood, in any combination. Wounds stay attached to the body in every frame of every animation.EIGHT ANIMATIONSIdle, Walk, Run (a fast sprint with dust), Hit, Attack, Bite, Spit and Die.• Quadrupeds pounce. Insectoids rear and lunge. The Reaper strikes with its scythes.• Spit fires on its own frame and reports the exact mouth position (the abdomen gland for the Bombardier).• Die collapses the creature into a pool of acid-blood.• Attack, Bite and Spit raise events at the moment they connect.• Matching acid shot and splash sprites are included for every hive.FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE• Editor window with live animated preview, seed browser, size reference and every parameter editable• Export PNGs, sprite sheets, acid shot sheets, presets, editable prefabs and baked animated prefabs• Generate, edit and recolour creatures at runtime; save and load them as JSON• Full C# source includedSWARM WAVE DEMOA sprinting swarm charges a sandbag barricade in growing surges while the camera zooms out from a handful of creatures to several hundred, all generated live. Spitters lob acid over the wall, the defenders' fire cuts creatures down, and the survivors pile up against the barricade. After each loop, the next hive attacks. The battle runs on a separate C# simulation that you can use as a starting point for your own swarm logic. A gallery scene shows every species in every hive.SUITABLE FORSci-fi shooters, horde survival and bullet-heaven games, tower defense, base defense, RTS and roguelites, or any 2D project that needs a lot of alien enemies.Includes optional URP lit material support, documentation and EditMode tests. Works alongside the other 2D Infinite Character Forge editions.Package type: Editor tool + runtime library (procedural 2D pixel-art alien creature generator). No pre-made sprite sheets: all creature art is generated by C# code in the Editor or at runtime.Generated imagesFrame size: fixed per creature so all of its frames share one canvas and pivot; from 50×37 px (Mite) to 79×54 px (Bulwark), including padding for animationsCreatures are about 14–26 px tall and 24–40 px long; Small, Medium and Large size classes keep their real size difference (sprites are never scaled); the sprite pivot is on the ground under the body; 16 pixels per unit by defaultColor depth: 32-bit RGBA (Texture2D RGBA32, point filtering, no mipmaps)Transparency: binary alpha (fully transparent background)Acid shot and splash sprites: 12, 16 or 20 px square canvases by size classExport: PNG (integer scale 1–16×), sprite sheets (one row per animation), acid shot sheets, editable prefabs, baked animated prefabs (sprite atlas per animation), JSON presetsContent8 species on 2 body plans: 4 quadrupeds (Skitterling, Stalker, Spitter, Ravager) and 4 six-legged insectoids (Mite, Reaper, Bombardier, Bulwark); unlimited variations from seeds4 castes (swarmling, warrior, spitter, charger/armoured), 3 size classes, 5 hive colour schemes (7 editable colours each)4 eye types, 3 tail types, combinable wounds (cracks, broken spikes, leaking acid-blood)8 animation slots: Idle, Walk, Run, Hit, Attack, Bite, Spit, Die (3–7 frames each)Included files: 44 C# scripts, 1 demo scene plus a gallery scene builder, 7 documentation preview images, documentation (Markdown)ArchitecturePure C# engine (no UnityEngine dependency) and thin Unity components (PixelSwarmView, PixelSwarmAnimator)Editor window, inspectors, prefab exporterSeparate assembly definitions: Runtime, Editor, Samples, TestsMain API: SwarmLibrary.Generate, SwarmRenderer.RenderFrame, SwarmForge.Generate, PixelSwarmView.SetSpecies / SetDefinition / SetFacing, ForgeCreature.SetHive / SetWounds, plus animation events (AttackMoment, BiteMoment, SpitMoment with the world launch point, AnimationCompleted)Creatures are serialized as JSON-compatible data (SwarmDefinition)Dependencies: None required. Optional: URP + Shader Graph for the included lit sprite shader; Unity Test Framework for the included EditMode tests.Platforms: All Unity platforms (managed C# only, no native plugins). On WebGL, generation runs on the main thread; on other platforms the demo uses worker threads.Limitations: Animations are visual poses only; movement, projectiles, collision and damage are handled by your game (the acid shot and splash sprites and the spit launch point are provided, and the Swarm Wave demo shows one way to use them). Dust and hit flash are drawn into the sprite frames, not particle systems.
