165 hand-styled toon models and 4 animated characters for tropical islands, beaches and an archaeology dig, with ink outlines, themes, day/night and a single palette texture. The same materials and shaders work in URP (17+) and the Built-in Render Pipeline with no conversion: each shader has a URP and a Built-in SubShader. HDRP is not supported. The walk-around demo works with the Input System or the old Input Manager.Build a bright, cartoon tropical island in minutes. Toon Tropical is a complete stylized kit: snap-together shore and cliff tiles, palms and plants, huts and docks, boats, treasure, camp gear, a full archaeology dig site and four animated characters, all in one consistent ink-outlined look. What's inside165 models: 13 modular terrain tiles (shore, cliff, ramp, plateau and water, on a 2 m grid), 42 nature pieces, 27 buildings, docks and boats, 56 props and 27 archaeology dig site pieces.Nature: 7 palm trees, bushes, flowers, grass, ferns, coral, rocks and driftwood.Buildings and boats: hut, watchtower, lean-to, well, rope bridge, docks, canoe, raft, rowboat and more.Props: treasure chests, gold, gems, barrels, crates, campfire, tiki torches, food, shells, cannon, anchor and more.Dig site: fossils, a dino skull, ruins, dig tools, a finds table, a tent, a sift screen, and dig pit and trench tiles.4 animated characters with in-place loops: Crab (Idle, Walk, Snap), Parrot (Idle, Fly, Squawk), Monkey (Idle, Walk, Cheer) and Explorer (Idle, Walk, Dig, Wave). The Explorer uses a Humanoid rig, so Mixamo and other humanoid animations retarget onto him.A playable walk-around scene: press Play and walk the explorer around a roomy island with a camp, village, dock and dig site (WASD, run, wave, dig, orbit camera), and switch themes and time of day live. The controller, follow camera and input scripts are included as a starting point, for the Input System or the old Input Manager.4 more demo scenes: Hero Island, Tile Island, Dig Site and Small Island.5 toon effects: Splash, Dust, Sparkle, Smoke and Fireflies, plus campfire embers.A toon sky: banded gradient, inked clouds, sun, moon and stars. The look, built inInk outlines with no post-processing. Every model has an inverted-hull outline mesh as a child object, so it works on any camera and platform. Switch it off per object.Cel shader for URP and the Built-in Render Pipeline. The same materials work in both, with no conversion.Themes and time of day. Recolour the whole world at once: Tropical, Autumn, Winter or Spooky, at Day, Sunset or Night. Fires, torches and lanterns glow at night.Living scenes. Wind sways palms, plants, flags and the tent, the water and foam animate, and flames flicker. All of it also runs in edit mode, and it can be frozen for screenshots.Interactive grass and plants. Add one component to any character and the foliage bends around it as it walks through, outlines and shadows included.Game-ready colliders. Walkable terrain, docks and buildings use exact colliders; props use simple footprint boxes that never snag; plants are walk-through.Toonify tool. Give models from other packs (or your own) the Toon Tropical cel shading and outlines, so they sit naturally next to the kit.Built for performanceThe whole pack uses 2 materials and one 256 px palette texture, with GPU instancing on.Low poly: about 900 triangles per model on average, about 150k for all 169 together (outlines not counted).Prefabs come with colliders, real-world scale (1 unit = 1 m) and pivots at the bottom centre.Play it in your browser: https://halfwattgames.github.io/toon-tropical-demo/Try it first: the free Toon Tropical Lite has 18 models and the animated crab. Import this pack over it, and Lite upgrades in place.Documentation: a Quick Start PDF is included, and more is at https://halfwattgames.github.io/toon-tropical/Support: halfwattgames@gmail.com. HDRP is not supported.Models: 165 static meshes and 4 skinned characters, as FBX.Triangles: models 20 to about 5,000 each (most under 1,500; the triple palm is the largest). Characters: Crab 2,090; Parrot 1,336; Monkey 2,900; Explorer 6,416. Outline meshes double these counts.Rigs: the Explorer uses Humanoid (15 bones mapped); the Crab, Parrot and Monkey use Generic.Animations: 13 in-place looping clips with no root motion. Each character has an Animator controller with one trigger per clip.Textures: one 256 × 256 palette, plus 11 theme and time-of-day palette variants.Materials: 2 (toon palette and outline).Shaders: Toon, Outline, Sky, Particle and Ember. Each has a URP SubShader and a Built-in SubShader.UV mapping: palette UVs. Each face samples one colour swatch.Colliders: exact MeshColliders on walkable pieces and buildings, footprint boxes on props, none on plants and low clutter.LODs: none (the meshes are already low poly).Includes: 5 demo scenes (one playable), 169 prefabs, a third-person starter controller and follow camera, 6 FX prefabs, 169 icons (512 px), and a Quick Start PDF.Dependencies: none.Every model in this pack is generated procedurally: Python scripts build each mesh, its palette UVs, outlines and rigs in Blender, and the Unity tools (toon shaders, scene builders, demo scripts) are custom C#. Both the scripts and the C# were written with the help of an AI coding assistant (Claude). No AI image, texture or 3D-model generators were used: there are no generated textures or meshes, only code that builds the geometry. Every asset was reviewed, art-directed and iterated on by hand.
