Day, night and 20 weathers for Unity 6 URP: storms that roll in from the horizon, real stars, alien worlds and 11 styles. Time and weather are seed-derived: a client syncs in 19 bytes.💬 Join the AnkleBreaker Community! 💬Got a question, feedback, or a feature you'd love to see? A seed and a tick go in; the time, the weather and the lightning come out, so every player gets the same forecast and a client syncs it in 19 bytes. Drop it in a scene, press Play, and the sky starts living.🌩 Weather That Lives 🌩20 weathers ship: clear, rain, thunderstorm, snow, fog, blizzard, hail, sandstorm, ash fall, aurora nights, heatwave, sun shower, autumn gale, tornado, ember storm and more.No transition table to fill: each weather says what climate it likes, and four drifting signals (humidity, pressure, warmth, wind) pick and blend the best match.Storms travel: a coming storm stands on the horizon long before it arrives, rain curtains and lightning inside. Its wind arrives first, then the rain.Tornadoes touch down in about twenty seconds, travel for minutes and rope out. The weather can bring one, or your code sets one down.A sandstorm is a wall that swallows the sun before it reaches you, and an ember storm drops hot ash that glows where it lands.Lightning is a function of the seed and the second: the same bolt for everyone who sees it.🏠 Weather That Stays Outdoors 🏠Rain, ripples and settling snow stop at the roof. Shelter is read from your own renderers and colliders.Give a tree one component with a canopy density, and slanted rain still reaches the ground beneath its crown.Five ground covers answer the weather: wet ground, snow, ash, hail and frost. Snow melts into wet ground, rain washes the ash away.Wetness is one global value your own materials read, so it reaches under roofs too. Your materials stay yours.🌌 Nights Worth Staying Up For 🌌The moon rises where and when the real one does.9,096 real stars from the Yale Bright Star Catalogue, at their place, brightness and color; how many are drawn follows the quality tier. Give them their daily turn and Orion climbs out of the east.88 constellations ship; your game can reveal them line by line, and you draw your own in the Constellation Editor.Make the night truly dark, so the light a player carries shows the way.Aurorae light the ground and the clouds beneath them, in 6 variants.🌤 Clouds And Light 🌤A cloud deck at a real altitude, each cloud forming its base at its own level, and cloud shadows that fall from the same field the sky draws.Volumetric light: a low sun lights the air, trees and clouds break it into beams, and rays fan out from the gaps of a broken deck.Heat haze makes the far view tremble over hot ground, with a mirage under the horizon.Visibility is a number in meters your game can read in fog, snow or a whiteout.Lens flares on the sun, the moon and anything else that shines, driven by the weather.🎨 11 Styles, Plus Your Own 🎨Realistic, painterly, storybook, cel, toon, watercolour, noir, retro futurist and more. Switch the style at runtime and the weather does not change. Banding works on brightness, so a posterized blue sky stays blue, and each style draws its own stars.🪐 Any World's Sky 🪐On Earth the sun and the moon keep their real astronomy. Every other body in the sky is yours: up to eight more, from 22 presets: cratered moons, banded giants, an ocean world and more.Give another world its tilt, its year and its own moon, or tidally lock it to its star, so the time of day depends on where you stand.Rings rise as an arch, and eclipses bring twilight at noon, from geometry alone, nothing scripted.Compute the air from its physics: Mars comes out butterscotch by day. Six worlds ship, ready to start from.Your own calendar: name the seasons and the weekdays, any week length.🎲 Derived, Not Stored 🎲Time, weather and lightning are computed from a seed, a tick and a config, so weather crossing the map is computed on every machine, never sent.A client syncs in 19 bytes, through three small interfaces that fit any netcode. A FishNet adapter ships as the example. All the drivers together take under 2 ms of main thread in the demo scene.🎮 Into Your Game 🎮Read the sky from code: is it night, does it rain here, is this spot under open sky, where does the wind blow.Subscribe to typed events: sunrise, sunset, season changed, lightning impact, tornado began, weather incoming, so your game reacts before the storm arrives.Four components wire the weather in without code: events, a post-processing volume, a sound and a shader value. Bind one to the sun's height and your windows light up at dusk.Three worked examples ship, built only on the public API. Beautiful Sky reports the weather; your game decides what it does.🧰 Tools That Show The Sky Without Play Mode 🧰One menu builds a wired sky world in your scene. Press Play. The Sky Lab shows the sky without Play mode, the Weather Creator previews your weather there too (with VFX Graph), and the Constellation Editor draws your figures among the real stars. The Sky Doctor reads the whole scene and, when a fault has an obvious repair, gives you the button.A 34-page manual inside the editor, also shipped as Markdown with an llms.txt for the coding assistant in your project.📦 What You Get 📦20 weathers, 11 styles, 6 worlds and 22 celestial body presetsA 9,096-star catalogue and 88 constellations7 demo scenes with a camera you fly or walk, and a lantern for the nightSky Lab, Weather Creator, Constellation Editor and Sky DoctorFull C# source, no DLLs, and the in-editor documentationThe landscapes in the videos and screenshots are there to show the sky and are not included. Everything Beautiful Sky asks of your project is in the Technical details.🔧 Setup 🔧Beautiful Sky runs on Unity 6 with URP. Import this package, then click Install in the Dependencies window that opens. The free AnkleBreaker packages install themselves through Unity's Package Manager, which needs Git installed on your computer to install them in one click.🛠️ And also quality & productivity tools for Save Systems, Character Customization, Ballistic Systems, Popups & Notifications, Minimaps, Maps & Compasses, and more.Unity: 6000.0 to 6000.6 (Unity 6).
Render pipeline: URP only, rendering with Render Graph. In Render Graph Compatibility Mode the passes draw nothing, and the Sky Doctor tells you. The HDRP backend is included but not supported; the Built-in Render Pipeline is not supported.
Required (free): AnkleBreaker Core, installed in one click by the Dependencies window on first import. Until then the package stays out of the compilation, without errors.
Git: required to install the free dependencies in one click. Free, installed once: git-scm.com/downloads. Without Git you install them by hand.
Optional: Input System (demo camera), VFX Graph (recommended: the tornado, the embers, the stylized rain and snow and the Weather Creator preview use it), Burst, Entities, AnkleBreaker Managers Loader, FishNet (networking example).
Model: time, weather and lightning are a function of a seed, a tick and a config. A client syncs them in a 19-byte snapshot through three interfaces, with any netcode. Cloud drift and ground covers accumulate on each machine and are not synced, so they can differ between players.
Content: 20 weathers, 11 styles, 6 worlds, 22 celestial body presets (up to 8 bodies beside the sun and moon), 9,096-star catalogue (all drawn at the Ultra tier), 88 constellations, 5 ground covers (up to 4 drawn at once), 7 demo scenes, 3 code examples.
Performance: under 2 ms of main thread for all drivers together, measured in the demo scene in the editor on one machine; no allocation in the steady state.
Documentation: 34-page searchable manual in the editor, shipped as Markdown with an llms.txt index.
Source: full C# source, no DLLs.
Limits: a tornado brought by the weather is local to each observer. Requested fronts, tornadoes and sandstorms are not replicated: your server relays the request. Wetness is one global value. The environments in the videos and screenshots are not included.AI tools were used to make this asset. AI coding assistants helped write, review and test parts of the runtime code, the editor tools, the documentation and the automated tests, working directly inside the Unity Editor through our free AnkleBreaker MCP Plugin for Unity. Medias on page: The promotional videos use an AI voice-over and AI-generated music. The screenshots and videos show real Unity renders of the included content.Every AI-assisted output was reviewed and validated in Unity by our team.
