Scans your scenes for 68 problems - broken references, hierarchy, rendering, lighting, physics, UI, prefabs, build blockers - explains each one in plain words, and safely fixes what can be fixed.Scene Doctor reads your scenes and tells you what is wrong with them, in plain words: what it found, why it matters, what to do about it, and when it is fine to leave it alone. Where a problem can be repaired safely, it offers to do it - always showing what it would change first, and always as a single Undo step.It is an editor tool. Nothing it contains ships in your build: there is no runtime code, no component to add to an object, and no change to your project until you ask for one.WHAT IT FINDS68 checks across thirteen areas: broken references and missing scripts, UnityEvent listeners that cannot call their function, hierarchy and duplicate problems, rendering and material mistakes, lighting, physics, audio, cameras, UI, prefab drift and build blockers. Each one carries its own explanation - why it matters, what usually causes it, what to do, and when it is fine to ignore - so the tool teaches rather than nags.A HEALTH SCORE YOU CAN TRUSTOne number out of 100 for comparing a scene with itself over time. A critical finding costs ten points, a warning three, a recommendation one, information nothing - and a scene with a critical finding is never called healthy, whatever the number says. Every category tells you what it found, or says "not checked", which is not the same as clear.A LIST YOU CAN ACTUALLY WORK THROUGHGroup by problem, category, severity or scene. Search everything you can read on screen. Switch severities off, or show one category alone. Click a finding to select the object and read everything the rule knows about it; double-click to frame it in the Scene View.SAFE FIXES, NEVER SURPRISESEight rules repair what they find, each declaring the exact changes before making them. A batch of thirty fixes is one Ctrl+Z. The scene file is copied before anything changes, and a fix never touches anything it did not list - a guarantee held by tests that compare every serialized property of the scene before and after.DECISIONS THAT STICKLeave a finding or a whole rule alone, with a note that says why. Ignored findings stay out of the list and the score but are never hidden from the scan, and any decision can be taken back. Choose which rules your project runs with rule profiles. Both live as text in ProjectSettings, so they travel with the project in version control and the whole team sees the same thing.IN THE SCENE VIEWFindings are drawn where they are, in the colour of each object's worst one, with the selected finding boxed. A small overlay shows the score. Whether they are drawn at all is your own preference.WRITE IT DOWNExport what the list shows as Markdown to read or paste into a ticket, CSV for a spreadsheet, or JSON for a script.TRY IT ON SOMETHINGOne menu command builds an example scene with one of nearly everything Scene Doctor looks for, in your project, outside the package folder. Scan it, read the explanations, try a fix, undo it, delete the scene.WHAT IT DOES NOT DOIt adds nothing to your build. It changes nothing until you ask - scans are read-only. It needs no other package: the URP camera-stack checks, the uGUI checks and the AI Navigation checks appear when those packages are installed, and without them the rest carries on. If your project has removed Unity's Physics or Audio module, the checks that need it switch off with it.Editor-only tool. Unity 6.3 (6000.3) or newer, on Windows and macOS.Render pipelines: Built-in, URP, HDRP and custom pipelines. Verified on Built-in, URP 17.3 and HDRP 17.3.Optional packages, all detected automatically and never required: Universal RP (camera stack checks), uGUI and TextMeshPro (UI checks), AI Navigation (NavMesh checks). The package also survives Unity's removable Physics and Audio modules being absent.Assemblies: one editor assembly plus optional integration assemblies gated by version defines. No runtime assembly ships with your build.Where it writes: ProjectSettings/PolynestSceneDoctor (ignore list and rule profiles, meant for version control), UserSettings/PolynestSceneDoctor (personal view options), Library/PolynestSceneDoctor (the last scan and the scene copies made before a fix). Nothing is created just by installing the package.Source included. Tests included (327 editor tests).Documentation: README, a Getting Started guide, the full rule catalogue, and a changelog inside the package.
