Tab Manager is very simple to use, but can be as complex as you want it to be. It's easy to set up with options in the context menu as well as buttons in the inspector. It's also very expandable; all the code is open for you to see, it is well documented, and several examples are provided to help you get started tailoring this plugin to your needs.
