Create cosmic scenes with fully customizable stars. This asset delivers stunning solar visuals with coronas, prominences, that run beautifully on all platforms - including Android and IOSA LIVING SUN FOR URP AND HDRPWebGPU Live demoAmazing and Fast Sun is an animated star for Unity 6. The surface, the halo and the prominences are hand-written HLSL shaders, so you don't need Shader Graph or VFX Graph. Drag a prefab into your scene and you get boiling granulation, sunspots that come and go, a soft glow ring and flipbook prominences rising over the edge.CLOSE-UP QUALITYThe surface is 3D noise calculated in the object's own space. It uses no UVs, so there are no seams and no stretching at the poles, even with the camera right next to the sun. Granulation flows with domain warping. Up to 20 sunspots grow, shrink and drift around the star, each with a dark core and a lighter penumbra. A Fresnel rim and a separate halo shader finish the silhouette. All colors are HDR and are made to work with Bloom.PROMINENCES WITHOUT GAMEOBJECTSThe Sun Prominence Generator draws prominences with GPU instancing: one draw call per group, nothing added to the hierarchy. Every prominence lives for a random time and then reappears elsewhere, always on the side of the sun the camera is looking at. Mix several groups with different flipbooks on one sun, and let each prominence pick a random color from an HDR gradient. The generator also runs in Edit mode, so you see the result in the Scene view while you tweak it.BUILT TO STAY FAST- Distance LOD: far suns draw half the sunspots, and farther still switch to single-octave granulation with no spots.- Sunspots can be switched off entirely, which removes their code from the shader.- One draw call per prominence group.- Flipbook atlases can be scaled down per platform with the texture Max Size setting.WHAT'S IN THE BOX- Sun Yellow, Sun Red and Sun Blue prefabs, for URP and for HDRP- Sun, Halo and Prominence shaders for each pipeline- 6 prominence flipbook atlases, from 61-frame strips to a 512-frame 16,384 × 4,096 sheet- Nebula skybox cubemap- Demo scenes for URP and HDRP with an orbit / free-flight camera (mouse, keyboard and touch)- Custom material inspector and full documentation in the Welcome windowGREAT FOR- Space exploration and strategy games- Sci-fi menus, cutscenes and trailers- Astronomy and educational apps- Mobile space games (URP)The previous version (V1.3, Shader Graph + VFX Graph) is still included for existing projects and will be removed in the next update. If the asset helps your project, please leave a rating or a short review. It really helps us keep the updates coming. URP and HDRP: separate shaders, materials, prefabs and demo scenes for each pipeline. Unity 6 (made in 6000.3). Pure HLSL: no Shader Graph or VFX Graph required. Sun shader: unlit HDR emission, object-space 3D noise (no UVs, no seams), domain-warped multi-octave granulation, Core / Mid / Edge color ramp. Animated sunspots: up to 20, grow-and-fade life cycle, penumbra color, rotation drift, distorted edges. Can be turned off. Fresnel rim glow with HDR color and intensity. Two-level distance LOD with smooth blending. Halo shader: additive glow computed from the view ray, identical from any angle. Prominence shader: instanced additive flipbook with edge fade, base fade and fade in/out over lifetime. Sun Prominence Generator: Graphics.DrawMeshInstanced, one draw call per group, up to 30 prominences per group, random size / frame rate / lifetime ranges, size over lifetime, seed, camera-facing spawn, works in Edit mode. HDR color gradient: random color per prominence, toggled per group. Flipbook atlases: 16,384 × 4,096 (32 × 16 frames), 8,192 × 3,584 (16 × 7), three 15,616 × 256 strips (61 frames each), 2,816 × 2,816 (11 × 11). Nebula skybox: 512 × 512 DDS cubemap with a ready material. Prefabs: Sun Yellow, Sun Red, Sun Blue for each pipeline. Custom material inspector for the Sun shader. Demo camera: orbit around a target or free flight; mouse, keyboard and touch. Uses the Input System package. Documentation: every shader and component parameter is described in README.md, also shown in the Welcome window. Graphics APIs: DX11, DX12, Vulkan, Metal, OpenGL ES 3.1+ (shader model 4.5). Web builds require WebGPU; WebGL 2 is not supported.
