Comsic is a bundle of scripts and prefabs to simulate the direction and brightness of sunlight and moonlight based on date, time, and geolocation. The effect looks great even on mobile devices with directional lights and hard shadows. It is useful for augmented reality, virtual reality, and any simulation, game, or app that can benefit from realistic cycles of natural light.
Optionally, the simulation updates itself using the system clock and geolocation services, where available.
The bundle also includes scripts, graphics, and scenes for a polished demo called Cosmic Compass, which is published as an Android app and Web app.
To act as a real compass on Android or iOS, the demo includes optional integration with the GyroDroid plugin (sold separately) by prefrontal cortex.
