Snapcam is like having the little "Navigator" window from Photoshop -- except for your *entire 3D scene* instead!!
To manage this lofty goal, Snapcam Navigator lets you define your own viewport locations/orientations in your scene (where the bulk of design/editing will take place) and, instead of dragging a rectangle around like in Photoshop's navigator (very imprecise if you're heavily zoomed-in), with Snapcam, you simply drag a slider left or right to get you to exactly where you want to be!

NOTE: Snapcam 1.19 includes a new (BETA) "Grid Navigator" window that works like a security-guard monitor station for any location in your scene. This lets you select any location in your scene at any moment via a single popup / toggle key. See the new video showcasing it in action!
(BETA NOTE: Before using the "Grid Navigator" window the first time, please open the "Snapcam Navigator" window before your first time opening the "Grid Navigator" window (at least until the fix is approved to the Asset Store!) After that initialization, you can close and reopen both windows at any time without any issues.

Snapcam actually is an *improvement* on the Photoshop 2D Navigator's design, and as such, it can be invaluable in 2D games too! Metroidvanias, epic topdown RPGs, or really anything where you need to track many places or things quickly in large, complex or expansive worlds!
Snapcam Navigator is a powerful, lightweight tool that exists to move you and your stuff around your scenes effortlessly -- all without fiddling with Unity's unwieldy viewport navigation.
Scenes with complex overlapping-geometry (i.e. FPS/corridor-shooters) or large open spaces with lots of distance to cover will constantly remind you of how Snapcam makes your scene-editing workflow a breeze!
After setting up the perfect shots for editing, you may want to align your in-game cameras with the carefully-placed viewport location/orientation (which only requires a single left-click to pass it along to any camera you wish), allowing you synchronize exactly what the player sees with what YOU see, whenever you want, while editing -- and it works the other way around too!
