Create infinite animated pirate pixel characters with 2D Infinite Character Forge – a Procedural pixel character generator and animator.2D Infinite Character Forge – Pirates & Privateers generates animated pixel-art characters for age-of-sail games. Pirate captains, buccaneers, swashbucklers and deckhands, along with the redcoats, marines and naval officers hunting them, are all drawn by C# code in the Editor or at runtime. There are no pre-made sprite sheets: every character comes from a seed, so you get an unlimited cast that stays consistent.TRY DEMO HERE!Built for pirate gamesSixteen roles in two factions: eight pirates (Captain, Quartermaster, Buccaneer, Swashbuckler, Deckhand, Gunner, Privateer, Castaway) and eight crown forces (Redcoat, Grenadier, Marine, Army Officer, Naval Officer, Navy Sailor, Soldado, Governor). The crown forces are historical uniform types, with no flags or national insignia. Hooks and peg legs are chosen separately for each side and follow every animation, and a hooked hand still holds its cutlass or lantern. Cutlasses, boarding axes and belaying pins swing. Flintlocks, blunderbusses and muskets fire with black-powder smoke and are reloaded with the ramrod. Every item has a material, a craft level and a condition, from salvaged iron and driftwood to gilded plunder. Any character can join a cursed crew step by step, down to a bare skeleton, and their hook and peg leg rust instead of rotting.Suitable genresSide-view and top-down action games, roguelikes, tactics and strategy games, naval and colony sims, RPGs, auto-battlers and crowd scenes. The characters are small (about 16–25 px tall, plus hats and weapons), so they work well when there are a lot of them on screen. The included Standoff demo generates 340 animated characters live while the camera zooms out over a beach where pirates and crown forces face a cursed crew.Fully customizableChoose a role, race, gear grade, wear and how often hooks and peg legs appear, or let the role pick sensible defaultsSet material, craft and condition for each of the four gear slots, and turn individual wear types on or offPick a hook and a peg leg for each side separately, with your own wood and iron coloursTurn any character into one of the risen dead in six stages, or with a 0–100 slider; armed dead keep fightingCreate your own races as data assets with live previews, without writing a rendererChange the art style (canvas size, outline, colours) without touching the character dataChange the appearance at runtime through a simple API; animations rebuild automaticallyAll C# source is included and editableReady for gameplayThere are 42 animation slots, including Shoot, Reload, Kneel Fire, Prone Fire, Crouch Fire, Grenade Throw, March, Salute, Tip Hat, melee attacks, Hurt, Die and the undead slots Shamble, Lurch, Grab, Bite and Rise. Animation events fire on the exact shot and strike frames, and ShotFired fires once per round. Export as PNG, editable prefabs, baked animated prefabs or JSON presets, or generate everything at runtime. The deterministic generator always gives the same character for the same seed.It works on all Unity platforms with no required dependencies, and needs Unity 2022.3 or newer.
