IMPORTANT: This asset WILL NOT work unless you install the FREE Houdini Engine for Unity plug-in. Follow the instructions on the plug-in page to download and install the Houdini Engine software.
The Rope Tool is a procedural asset that lets you use the Houdini Engine technology to customize its output for your game. You can wrap objects with the Rope tool and then control the resolution, diameter, twist, UVs and rope type. Planes can be used to determine where the rope intersects with the geometry.
You can also use simulation to relax the ropes to give a more realistic look. In the end you will output a static model to your game.

How does it Work?
In Houdini, networks of nodes can be easily wrapped up into Houdini Digital Assets then shared with other artists. With the Houdini Engine, assets like the Rope Tool can be loaded into the Unity game editor with procedural controls available to artists.
The assets can then be manipulated in Unity. Anytime a parameter is changed on the asset, the Houdini Engine is called upon to "cook" the network of nodes and publish the results to Unity. This is why you need Houdini installed on your computer.
It is important to note that the assets are procedural in the editor and not at runtime.
