Bind the U key to quickly switch between custom tools via a pie menu in the Scene window.Tool For U is an extension for the Unity editor that binds the U key (or any other key you desire) to rapidly switch between custom tools relevant to the current selection using either a pie menu or a list-style menu. It works with all built-in Unity tools including anything using the EditorTool system, and can be easily extended to work with custom tool systems. In the case that there are multiple possible tools to switch to, it allows configuring the priority of one tool over another tool. For example, you can stop it from asking you whether you would like to switch to the Polygon Collider 2D editor tool if another component’s tool is responsible for actually generating the polygon’s shape. This asset has been at minimum tested on Unity 2020.3.12f1 with the built-in renderer and on Unity 2021.1.2f1 with the URP scriptable render pipeline, on Windows 10 and Linux. When one custom tool is available immediately switch to it when U is pressedWhen multiple custom tools are available, show a pie or list menu with all the options when U is pressedPress Esc to exit any custom tool"Current Tool" overlay in the scene viewSetup tool priorities to switch between tools fasterChange the key binding to something other than USome support for using the Tab key to switch tools, enabled in the settingsEasily add support for your in-house custom tool systemsWell-documentedWhen one custom tool is available immediately switch to it when U is pressedWhen multiple custom tools are available, show a pie or list menu with all the options when U is pressedPress Esc to exit any custom tool"Current Tool" overlay in the scene viewSetup tool priorities to switch between tools fasterChange the key binding to something other than USome support for using the Tab key to switch tools, enabled in the settingsEasily add support for your in-house custom tool systemsWell-documented
