Virtual Voice Actor allows your characters to talk. It speaks a gibberish language similar to some other games so you do not end up with that uncanny valley robotic sound that traditional text-to-speech has.
It is also capable of emotion. Questions will be spoken with a slight pitch raise at the end to sound question-like, and sentences with exclamation points will be spoken louder and at a slightly higher pitch. Words in bold rich text formatting are also spoken louder and words in italic formatting are spoken at a higher pitch. Those values are all adjustable so you can match them to your desires.
Alternatively, you can use it as a placeholder until you get your actual voice actors to record their parts.
It will also drive your dialog GUI with text that types out as the characters speak. The text itself supports most rich text tags, and those tags can be used to control the actors. You can also use a custom tag to pass further instructions to your actors.
The system is easy to integrate, can read any human language, and can be customized in a variety of ways. You can create your own phoneme sets if the one provided does not fit your needs.
Since a variety of different languages can be created, your voice actors can accurately represent a variety of different races, species, nationalities,or whatever else in your game might lead to characters speaking a different language.
Because it is actually converting text to speech, your characters will always sound consistent. (Unless they are all speaking different fictional languages)
