Honeycomb is a fully functional hex map generator and editor. Multiple terrains can be selected and transitions will blend from one to the other. Water, trees, plants, buildings, roads, rivers etc can all be added. This asset is under active development and new features are on the horizon.
Features:
* Fully functional map editor.
* Maps can be created from small to huge.
* Create any terrain, paint the elevation straight onto the map.
* Small elevation changes will create terraces, higher changes will create slopes.
* Create oceans, lakes and rivers. Water can be painted at any elevation, for example and ocean at sea level and a lake up in the mountains.
* Paint any prefab on the map.
* Paint rivers & roads on the map.
* Rivers & water are fully animated.
Including flowing in and out of estuaries.
* When a road encounters a river, a bridge will be added automatically.
* When roads encounter each other, intersections are added automatically.
* You can create walls around your settlements, towers on these walls are included.
* Walls with automatically stop and start at both rivers and roads with the correct end caps. They will also line up perfectly when encountering slopes.
* Use your own prefabs. (Demo prefabs included)
* Use your own textures. (Demo textures included)
* All spawned prefabs take into account the irregularities of the mesh.
* Paint buildings, farms and plants on the map. All of these can have multiple stages of development, so your city could grow. Each stage can have multiple variations.
* Demo scene included with first person controller to run around any map you create. Multiple spawn locations included by use of a prefab of your own choice (demo prefab included).
* Editor includes multiple brush sizes.
* In the editor you can chose to paint one, two, ... up to all settings at once.
* Save any map and load it in your own game.
* Irregularities are added to the terrain mesh trough the C47 noise generator (included with Honeycomb). Change any setting in this generator to create exactly the terrain you want.
* Every aspect of the terrain can be changed, a couple of examples are: Hex size, elevation steps and height, amount of terraces spawned, river depth, wall height & thickness, bridge length, .... and many more.
* Asset includes both a Editor scene and a demo scenes.(FPS & RTS examples)
* Created maps can be exported to prefab or you can proceduraly generate & edit it while your game is running.
* Since version 1.2 we now support Units & Factions.
* The demo scene will allow you to load any previously saved map and run around in it.
* Great performance, even in big maps.
