This editor extension will connect you to the official/un-official IRC of Unity that is listed on their community page. There is no signup or rigistration. Just pick a name at random and connect then ask your questions. You will be answered by many Unity veterans that literally hang out to answer each others questions.

This window is fully dockable so you can place it wherever you want :)

This add-on is free and you have nothing to lose. Hey, you might even be able to answer someone elses questions and support the community while your at it. Please any feedback or feature request so that this Editor addon will be able to suit all your needs to get your job done!

I have yet to test this fully on a mac, will do so soon and make appropriate fixes if needed.
