A Unity project can easily create a cluttered project pane. QuickLink is an editor extension which allows you to add links to your most used assets in the project or scene hiearchy to quickly locate them.

The persistent window can only link to objects in the hiearchy and is itself persistent regardless what scene you're in.
The scene window updates depending on what scene you are working with and can link to project assets and objects in the scene.
