This plugin for the WordPress Login kit allows you to:
► Pre-generate serial numbers for your games to include in physical copies sold
► Sell your games directly on your website* ► Auto register a serial upon purchase *
► Track a person's ownership of a product across devices (Once you have paid for it it is unlocked on all their devices including new / replacement devices)
* WordPress Money required
A serial can only belong to one person at a time meaning if your game requires a serial to work, sharing the game on warez sites will be useless since they will have to share their serial also. Once the serial is registered to someone else, the original owner will have to buy the product again in order to continue playing. Thus there is no incentive to share the game.
WordPress Serials works slightly different from the rest of the kits in the series in that there is very little you can do inside of Unity. Almost everything is done or automated on the server end. It includes a WordPress dashboard settings page where you can:
► Generate any number of serials you wish
► Delete all unassigned serials
► View all allocated serials and their owners in one place with a "Revoke" button next to each serial.(Listed per game)
► View a list of all games purchased by a particular user, along with the allocated serial and a revoke button
► Manually assign a serial to a user with one click
Apart from customers who need to manually register, the actual serial number is never used by the customer. If you have the WordPress Money plugin installed and sell the game directly via your WooCommerce enabled website then their serial is assigned and registered for them automatically and they literally never need to use the serial ever again apart from when contacting customer support and even then, it's not necessary.
WordPress Serials pre-generates the serials then links a customer's id to one of them. Thus the server knows if a user has registered and what their serial number is. the dashboard will show you what their serial is also so there is no need for the serial to be sent back and forth between the game and the server or even when contacting customer support. It's use is entirely on the server.
You do have the option of fetching the serial from the server if you intend to show it in the game but apart from that, there is nothing much you need to do inside of Unity except check for "Does he have a serial?" and that part I optionally automate for you during login... though you do have the option to redo the test at any time you wish
