With Rex Engine, you can get a 2D sidescroller up and running in minutes. It provides easy hooks to swap in your own art, animations, and music, and gives you endless customization options to create and customize your very own killer sidescroller.

Jam-Packed with Mechanics

Rex Engine gives you access to a huge variety of character mechanics and abilities. You can make characters that move, jump, climb, use attacks, and much more. Rex Engine makes it easy to add new abilities to characters: you simply select them and add the ability from the menu, without needing to type a single line of code!

Rex Engine also goes in-depth with these mechanics, letting you mix, match, and customize them to make your game feel unique.

Classic 2D Physics

Rex Engine comes with its own custom 2D physics engine, styled after platformers of the 8 and 16-bit eras. Its physics are responsive and perfectly-tailored to making 2D platformers that play like the classics. It even has features like sloping terrain and the ability to flip gravity upside-down at will.

Customizable and Extendable

Rex Engine is easy to build on top of. This package comes with the full source code, all of which is documented, commented, and organized so you can easily extend it.
