Shaders are intensive, and whilst there are different quality levels not all are not guaranteed to perform well on all platforms. Performance is dependent on quality of mesh, so use as low poly objects as possible for greatest performance. A minimum of shader model 4.0 is required for cutout shaders. Shaders are untested on mobile devices, and 6/8 use the Standard lighting model. Also not compatible with Unity terrain/billboard grass.
Containing a total of 8 different variants, the Grass Shader Pack is a useful tool for different scenarios. All shaders contain non vertex-based wind animation, support for height maps, support for custom wind patterns, as well as physically based lighting and normal maps for the 3 highest quality levels. Cutout and alpha blending variants are available, for either a smoother look or support for depth/shadow rendering.
Included are a few textures and a demo scene for use with this pack, alongside a grass painting script. Material must have heightmap for painting script to work.
