Surrounding the base of the circular earthen mound are stone slabs supported by triangular stones. In between the slabs are stone statues of the 12 animals of the Oriental zodiac in combat uniforms and stone pillars supporting the banisters enclosing the tomb. Four stone lions flank the tomb as guardians; to the south of the tomb is a stone table flanked by two stone bowing figures. Around the tomb are a few more stone statues that were heavily damaged.Tomb Of King Heungdeok, Gyeongju 경주 흥덕왕릉 (慶州 興德王陵)The Royal Tomb of King Heungdeok (826-836), the 42nd king of the Silla Period, is one of the best preserved among Silla tombs. Twelve zodiac images are engraved on the side stones of the huge round mound, four sculptured stone lions are at the four corners of the square stone pavement around the mound, and stone figures of civil and military officers stand on both sides of the passageway leading to the tomb. Some broken pieces of a tomb stele–stating that this is the tomb of King Heungdeok–were found near the mound. A tortoise pedestal on which the tomb stele originally stood remains in front of the tomb.Tomb of King Heondeok, Gyeongju 경주 헌덕왕릉 (慶州 憲德王陵)This is presumed to be the tomb of King Heondeok, the 41st monarch of the Silla Dynasty (57 B.C.-A.D. 935). The tomb consists of a round earthen mound reinforced with well-dressed flat stones around the bottom. Stones carved with the 12 zodiac figures are fitted between the reinforcing stones, providing symbolic safeguards for the tomb. Only five signs – Hae (Pig), Ja (Rat), Chuk (Cow), In (Tiger), and Myo (Rabbit) – among the twelve remain, however. This kind of tomb construction emerged after Silla’s unification of the peninsula in 668. The current tomb was repaired in 1970.Tomb of Tomb Of King Gyeongdeok, Gyeongju 경주 경덕왕릉 (慶州 景德王陵)Located on a hill near Gyeongju, this is the royal tomb of King Gyeongdeok, the 35th King of the Silla Dynasty. King Gyeongdeok (742-765) is a son of King Seongdeok. The tomb, which is in the form of a big mound, is encircled by stone on which the twelve animals of the Oriental zodiac are exquisitely carved in relief. In front of the tomb is a stone table used for ceremonial rituals. There is a stone fence made of 40 stone pillars surrounding the whole tomb structure. Although there is a stone monument decorated with panel design, no other stone works – such as statues of lions, scholars, and generals – were found in front of the tomb.Tomb of Kim Yu-sin, Gyeongju 경주 김유신묘 (慶州 金庾信墓)This is the tomb of General Kim Yu-sin, who made a significant contribution to the unification of the kingdoms of Baekje and Goguryeo under Silla. The diameter of the tomb is about 30m, and its base is strengthened by stone panels. In between the stone panels, adorning the retaining wall, are relief carvings of the 12 Oriental zodiac images dressed in civilian clothes and with weapons ready as the unique tradition of Silla tombs since the royal tomb of King Seongdeok. King Heungdeok, the 42nd king of Silla, posthumously made him the Great King Heungmu. Thus, his tomb was prepared and cared for as a royal tomb.Features:Tombs - 5Zodiac Animal Deitiesmonumentsprops - crown, belt, cauldronNumber of Unique Meshes: 90Collision: YesVertex Count: 60 - 546,148LODs: NoNumber of Materials : 66Number of Textures: 212Texture Resolutions: 2048*2048, 4096*4096
