This plugin allows you to generate a grid of cubes or hexagons which will start moving and changing color based on visual data.
After creating the pin grid on the CPU the rest of the logic is GPU based, which allows this plugin to be verry lightweight.
You can simply pass visual or depth data from Unity's camera or video component and the pins will start moving based on the strength of the data.
Many settings can be set to create multiple behaviours and looks, a demo scene is included which shows all the visual effects created in the trailer and promo images.
Important!
Note that the moving of the pins is done on the GPU, therefore this plugin is incompatible with Unity's physics system, if you assign a mesh collider it will not move/adjust with the pins.
Some of the adjustable settings include:
- Pin amount / individual scale / total scale
- Pin shape cube / hexagon. Both can also have grooved edges
- Pin color
- pin color locking
- Pin movement amount
- Pin base height
- Data motion blur, allowing for smoother pin movement
- Control data blurring increase and falloff speeds
- Use color or depth information from camera's
- Use Unity's video component as a data source
- Use unlit or shadow receiving materials
